Used to note the break with the earlier modernist principles by placing emphasis on form over function by reintroducing traditional or classical elements or by carrying modernist styles or practices to extreme.

I would like to think I'm a post modern designer and fight against the rules of moderenism. But I think im a moderenist I seem to still play by rules others tell me an dont do stuff like god old David Carson.

Saul Bass is such  a Boss,  last semester some one told us that he designed a opening tittle for a movie, but the tittle was better than the movie so critics said you should just go for the opening and leave. That was risky for him to make the sequence better than the move. When Saul and Hitchcock teamed up for psycho and Saul storyboard the shower scene, that is motion design all over, he is a graphic designer, story boarder and tittle maker.

The thing I really thought was cool from this class, was Gropious came to america and taught at Harvard. His first lecture was based on american architecture and how he said that our architecture is pure auestedick. which i thought is was neat that everyone looked back at their homes or country farm houses. And they understood what he was saying. And how I.M the architect said he was his favorite and best teacher because he was open minded. The other thing i thought was the bee's knees's was all the work by Herbert Matter and how he used Typography and Photo and made such iconic posters that people still know and riff off.
